Welcome to tranquility and presence at Hjortø

**About the trip: **
The trip starts already when we board the ferry “Hjortöboen”. It's a small ferry that only has room for 12 passengers, so you won't get lost here:)
Here you can stand on the deck and enjoy the ride through Svendborg Sund and out to Hjortø, or enjoy yourself with a cup of coffee inside the salon (coffee can be bought on board). The ferry ride takes 1 hour.
Having arrived at Hjortø, we take the time to sniff in the fresh air and find peace before quietly exiting the small road that leads through the small collection of houses and on to the west end of the island.
We walk a round of a few kilometers in total, and along the way we take breaks here and there, hear a little about the history of the island, look at the nature we encounter and the weather we have that day.
We stop at lunchtime at Jane P, which has a cosy little café and shop with ceramics and jewellery. Here you can buy food and drinks at reasonable prices (see photo!).
It is also possible to buy an ice cream at the harbour.
A SMALL ISLAND WITH A BIG HORIZON
At Hjortø you get nature into your body and soul, and the tranquility is very special here. The sea and the big sky, reaching from the outermost edge of the horizon to the innermost coast, sets the perspective in place and nature brings the proximity into the soul.
NATURE AND THE WEATHER
When you are on an island, it is nature and the weather that determines. So take a look at the weather forecast before you leave and be prepared for today's weather!
Also wear a good pair of hiking shoes that can withstand getting dirty and possibly wet. We walk both on asphalt, dirt road, beach and over beach meadow.
